A WORD ABOUT WACO


The Woodfield Area Children’s Organization is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Since 1979, WACO has been dedicated to creating positive childhood memories, providing basic needs, along with educational support for children living at or below poverty level in Chicago's northwest and western suburbs. A full 97 cents of every dollar we raise goes to help the kids.

WACO partnered with the Children’s Home & Aid Society of Illinois to build the Schaumburg Child + Family Center.  It opened in June, 2010.  The center subsidizes daycare for 110 children and is the first of its kind in the northwest suburbs.

The Woodfield Area Children’s Organization was first conceived in 1979.  WACO incorporated on April 22, 1993 for the purpose of acting as a charitable and educational organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
